Surviving Ronald is his daughter Alyssa (and Glade) Turner of Metamora, Mich. He enjoyed tractors, Harley Davidson motorcycles, classic cars and target shooting. He had been employed at Rima Manufacturing Company, retiring in June 2020. Ronald was born March 2, 1962, in Fort Benning, Ga., to Richard and Arleta (Edmonson) Ford. A remembrance ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 5, at Eagle-Marry Funeral Home, Morenci. He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece, Hillary Shaffer. In addition to his wife, Joanne, he is survived by one son, Devin (and Kelsey) Shaffer two grandchildren, Reife and Trase Shaffer three brothers, David (and Susan), Glen (and Marlan), and Roger (and Brenda) Shaffer. He enjoyed bowling, golf, going Up North, morning coffee rides, and “Walmart” trips with family and friends. Ron never met a stranger and was a very friendly guy. He loved to work, was a “jack of all trades,” teaching his son and grandsons the ropes. He was a member of the Morenci Eagles where he served as an officer for 32 years, the Morenci American Legion, and Adrian Moose. Since 1988, Ron camped at Green Valley Campground where he loved to build fires. Ron was employed as an auto body technician at Clift Pontiac for 33 years. On July 25, 1980, in Morenci, Ron married Joanne Deshler, and she survives. 22, 1957, in Morenci, the son of George and Dora (Goff) Shaffer and was a graduate of Morenci Area High School with the class of 1976. Ronald William Shaffer, 65, of Morenci, Mich., died March 2, 2023, at ProMedica Toledo Hospital.
